    Hello! Welcome to the website for your Georgia Colonial History needs. This website was created with the goal to benefit you and your knowledge on colonial Georgia. The creators of this website were a group of 8th grade students in Adamson Middle School located in Rex, Georgia. Feel free to leave to a comment on your experience on this website. We also ask that you take a look at the reflections section of the website where the website creators describe their experience in the creation of this website.


Purpose

          The purpose of this website was to benefit you and the world with information regarding Georgia's Colonial History. This website contains different aspects about Georgia's Colonial History including information on James  Oglethorpe, the Charter of 1732, Reasons for Settlement, Tomochichi, Mary Musgrove, and Savannah. All of which played a major role in the beginning of what we know today as Georgia.

Georgia Performance Standards (GPS)

SS8H2 The student will analyze the colonial period of Georgia's History.
    a. Explain the importance of James Oglethorpe, the Charter of 1732, reasons for settlement(charity, economics, defense), Tomochichi, Mary Musgrove, and the city of Savannah. 
STL 7 Students will develop an understanding of the influence of technology on history.
ELAW2 the student demonstrates competence in a variety of genres the student produces technical writing(business correspondence, letters of application and letters of recommendation, resume, abstracts, user guides or manuals,web pages).
